This recipe is slightly sweet but still has a small kick which makes it great to start your day or as a midday meal replacement. The recipe ends up making enough for two so divide or multiple the recipe according to how many people you’re going to treat to this healthy concoction.
½ cup – Water
½ tsp – Matcha Powder
1 – Green Apple
¼ cup – Avocado
2 cups – Spinach
1 – Cucumber
1 in. piece – Ginger Root
2 Tbsp – Lemon Juice
1 – Kiwi
½ cup – Green Grapes
½ cup – Fresh Basil Leaves
Step 1 – In a small cup whisk together matcha powder and water until well combined.
Step 2 –Process the green apple, spinach, ginger root, cucumber, kiwi, green grapes and fresh basil leaves through a juicer.
Step 3 – Pour matcha mixture into a blender along with the juice mixture and add the avocado and lemon juice. Blend until juice has a smooth consistency. (This should take just about 1 minute.)
Step 4 – Pour into a glass and enjoy!
For the best results I kept all my ingredients washed and refrigerated until it was time to use them (except the avocado because otherwise it would turn brown.) I utilize a high performance blender and opt to skip the juicing step when making my juice which accounts for why there aren’t small specks of green from the fruit and vegetables. You can choose to do the same or just add the matcha mixture along with all the fruit and vegetables directly to the blender. As a result, if you see small specks in the juice that is perfectly normal when using a regular blender and won’t affect the taste; you can blend longer if you like.
